Donations

Peggy Rubel

Donation letters are going out.  Donations = profits!!  Do you, your spouse, a friend or neighbor work for a company that would make a donation to the Club for Clown Town?  Our greatest need is small items and promotional items that can be used for 1st prizes and consolation prizes.  I would like to be sure that we don't ask a company twice, so please talk to me at the February meeting or give me a call.  Attached is the Donation Letter for you to copy to give to companies you solicit for a donation.  I am happy to write thank you letters for you – but I can only do that if you let me know what you’ve received and from whom you received it.  In addition, Happy Meal toys make great prizes.  Thanks for your help.

Clown Town 2007

Anne Viens & Lisa Johnson

CLOWNTOWN
is right on schedule!

There was a nice turnout for a focused planning meeting at Anne Viens on Jan. 29th... plus, good wine/good cookies...yummmmm

The chair positions are full (YEAH!! HIP! HIP! HOORAY!!), although there are a couple areas that could use more helpers in this organizing/working stage:

PUBLICITY:  Mary Coccio, Sara Cronin (our email/computer publicity expert), Christine Davis, Dot Hayden
VOLUNTEERS:  Renee Iezzi, Lisa Johnson
PRIZES:  Camille Speca, Beth Adams
BASKET BONANZA:  Lynne Wolff and _______________.  We would REALLY like someone to help Lynne and learn the ropes of this.  Please call, email or send a carrier pigeon to Lynne, Anne, or Camille if you are interested!!
DONATIONS:  Peggy Rubel and ___________________.  We could use another here!
TICKETS:  Jeanne Rotatori, Lisa Wesson
BAKE TABLE:  Diane Fusco
KITCHEN:  Irma Larsen  (with the assistance of Lisa Kane & one of our honorary male members, Mark Kane)
CLEAN UP/SET UP PLANNING:  Anne Viens, Lisa Johnson
GAMES:  Karen Settipane, Lisa Johnson
DECORATIONS:  Anne Viens and ______________?   Hmmm, we never really got to this.   Any interested helpers with this (pleeze!)?
FACE PAINTING:  Kathy Gray

At our February meeting, there WILL be sign ups sheets for BAKE TABLE.   A list of what is needed follows.  There will also be the sign-ups for SET UP/CLEAN UP,  GAMES (we need to have one GBWC member at each game), GREETERS, DECORATIONS, working at the FOOD places (Bake Shoppe, Kitchen).

We are planning to get together to redo some games, and game signs/ decorations.  Some have been recently redone...and some need makeovers now.

So....the point.....at the February meeting we'll all be signing up for the nitty gritty!  So, start thinking now!
And...to think ahead...the March meeting will be a working meeting....counting out tickets, getting prizes ready, stuffing bags, all that good stuff!!

OTHER STUFF OF IMPORTANCE:

KIDS COSTUMES:  We are looking for costumes for the dress up/Pictures.  We have quite a few Princess style dresses for the little girls, but could use some things for the boys and the older little boys and girls.  Any pirate style stuff would be great.  or, really, anything!  Kids LOVE to dress up!!

TOYS/PRIZES:  Time to clean out all those Happy Meal toys, unused stocking stuffer stuff, stickers, pencils...whatever.  Please bring any goodies that could be used for prizes to the next mtg.  (or call Anne or Camille if you need us to pick it up).  Who wants to cook?  Bring the kids to Mickey D's, get 'em a Happy meal, and steal their toy when they aren't looking...heck, blame it on Ronald!)

COFFEE CANS:  Please bring empty coffee cans to the Feb. meeting so the ticket containers can be spruced up

OUR CLOWN COSTUMES:  We are fortunate to have a seamstress available.  If anyone is interested in any costume/costume-ish stuff, please speak with Anne Viens or Melinda Bates.  It might be nice to have some big ruffle collars, or a tu-tu for KG.  Melinda's Mom is willing to do some sewing, so let us know if there's anything you want/need.

And, FINALLY...if there is anything at all that you think should have been mentioned, but wasn't, PLEASE contact Anne, Lisa or Camille!

Ladies, as always,  it's time to be thinking about  the bake table for Clowntown!!!!
We’re looking for  cookies,  cupcakes, brownies or your ideas for cute kids foods.  They need to be delivered  the day of Clowntown between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.  And please have them wrapped since we don't have a wrapping day for this event.
If you run into any problems with your delivery, please email me or call.
I'll have a sign up sheet at the next meeting. If you are unable to attend please email me and let me know what you’re bringing.  Thanks for all your help!

BASKET BONANZA

FIRST I am looking for volunteer(s) At least one to work with me the day of the event  and several to help me put the baskets together one evening just before the event. Please call me or sign up at the February meeting.

SECOND Although this is called ‘Basket’ Bonanza, we have traditionally used all kinds of containers:  boxes, pails, whatever.  Please bring any baskets or containers you think might work to me at the February meeting.  Also, please let Peggy Rubel (Donations) know what donations you have received so that she can be sure there are no duplicate requests.  Then bring me the item(s) at the February and March meetings.

Member Karen Settipane photographs a young man visiting the Easter Bunny.
Several local Shriner Clowns attended and did that they do best -- make people happy! Thanks for their continued support.
Member Melinda Bates helps a young man fish for buried treasure.
Member Susan Davies mans the Duck Pond with her usual grace.
